The root of Candies Creek is the daily transformation of all the members because of their life in Christ and the Word abiding in them.  Jesus specifically says, “If you abide in my Word then you are truly disciples of mine” (John 8:31).  The disciple’s journey is about a loving relationship with Jesus and His Word.

Jesus used relationship in a small group to mature His disciples.  Clearly, God calls His children to be brothers and sisters in Christ.  God designed the church family and gifts His disciples to build the church.  Candies Creek is “striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27).  Uniting with the body AND unity in the body is pleasing to the Lord and an answer to Jesus’ own prayer.  Jesus specifically says, “By this all men will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).  This disciple’s journey is about a deep fellowship with other believers organized as the church.

The MISSION now is making disciples who make disciples.  The potential of an apple seed is an orchard.  Jesus specifically says, “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples” (John 15:8).  Individual children of God as the church of God are to point others to a relationship with Christ AND a maturity in Christ (in the Word as the Church for the Mission).  The mission involves intentionality!  The mission goes global in missions as well.  The disciple’s journey is about filling the earth with God’s glory one person at a time extending to all peoples participating in the kingdom purpose.

According to Jesus, the disciple’s journey involves ALL three components to be a true, known, proven disciple who abides in the Word, loves one another and bears much fruit (as distinguished in the paragraphs above with colors).  Candies Creek seeks to keep all three components of a disciple highlighted in every member, every day, every meeting, every ministry all the time!
